OOPS

Yesterday I posted about my trip into town and today I see that the post has disappeared! I’m working on my IPad, which I haven’t done before,so perhaps I did something wrong. Let’s see how it goes today.

Our reading group is always a good experience. For January we read “The Mountain and the Vally”. by Ernest Buckler. We all agreed that the language was poetic and the descriptions of scenery were beautiful because of it. However, even these became tedious and it was difficult to push through to the end. Some readers didn’t. We felt a little quilty about our opinions because Buckler is a highly acclaimed author. We thought, perhaps, we weren’t giving him due justice. We all had compassion for the main character and would have liked to have seen life go better for him. But this sympathy was not enough to redeem the novel in our eyes. We were, however, impressed with Buckler’ success as an author who was one of our own; having been born in Nova Scotia and made his home in the Annapolis Valley.

I was happy to be able to purchase a roof rake yesterday. Last year the heavy snows buckled the metal roof of my “new” woodshed and I feared that this year it might collapse altogether. Now that I have this new tool hopefully I will be strong enough to use it 🙂 I will keep you posted (pardon the pun)

Today I will make lists and purchase my supples for February.

The weather has turned mild and the snow is melting rapidly. I may not be returning to the winter wonderland that I left.

Until next time,

Ellecee
