“He who every morning plans the transactions of that day and follows that plan carries a thread that will guide him through the labyrinth of the most busy life.” ~ Victor Hugo
Procrastination is my nemesis
I am fighting it every day and not winning. It takes many forms, most, of course, simply excuses.
The favourite, no energy.
Then there is
- not enough time
- not enough information
- I don’t have what I need
- it’s too late
- it’s too early
- I don’t feel well enough
- I’m not strong enough
- it’s raining
- it’s hot
- it’s windy
- it’s old hat
- no talent for it
- not good enough
- won’t work
I could go on and on.
The most amusing one is sitting around trying to decide how to change the situation instead of getting on with the task at hand.
This is something relatively new for me. In my career I couldn’t procrastinate. If I did the consequences could be serious so I soldiered on. I was known as someone who “got the job done” Need something now, ask Ellecee.
So what happened?
Retirement?
Developing a taste for laziness?
It does’t matter does it. Just talking about procrastination is procrastinating.
One good thing has happened, I’ve written a post today.
Until next time,,
Ellecee
