“Self–Reflection: By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and Third, by experience, which is bitterest.” Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made.”
All humour aside, reflection, although said to be noble, is no easy task.
I have been reflecting on past experiences and possibilities for the future.
This is the longest period that I have lived anywhere. (8 years) By now I would have moved on.
Where? The possibilities have always seemed endless. The far North, down under, London, Ecuador (just kidding – maybe) I would plan and then escape to any spot that my finances would endure. What was I escaping?
I never reflected on that 🙂
I have been reflecting on being the youngest of twelve siblings. There are five of us left. We are now enough to be counted on the fingers of one hand instead of two plus.
I have been reflecting on having become reclusive, living in a cabin in the woods, not socializing.
I have been reflecting on the attitude of some others who don’t understand my lifestyle; who wonder – what was she thinking – why this choice?
I have been reflecting on always having been a little odd (in the opinion of others, and perhaps, my own)
One of the warmest compliments I ever received was “you are a little odd but I like you”
We are all the sum of our choices. Some of us choose differently than those around us. We go with the flow that meets our needs, the environment where we feel the most comfortable.
In that sense I am always in good company. I am not alone.
Reflecting on this thought brings me comfort
Until next time,
