1. An optical phenomenon that creates the illusion of water,
often with inverted reflections of distant objects, and results
from distortion of light by alternate layers of hot and cool air.
    Also called fata morgana.
  2. Something illusory or insubstantial.

“I believe consciousness is brazenly physical, a raucous mirage the brain creates to help us survive.”

Diane Ackerman

These photos are of “mistakes” I made while attempting to take shots with a hand-held long-range lens. The difficulty of holding the camera steady caused these interesting results. There was no Photo Shop involved, although I have often wished I had the creativity to use it.
The pictures remind me of a mirage in the sense that the images are recognizable but yet unclear.

As so much of living can be as well,

“The world, indeed, is like a dream and the treasures of the world are an alluring mirage Like the apparent distances in a picture, things have no reality in them- selves, but they are like heat haze.”
(Guatama Buddha)

“There is only one large circle that we march in, around and around, each of us with our own little picture — in front of us — our own little mirage that we think is the future.”

(Lorraine Hansberry)

“Enjoy the journey, because the destination is a mirage.”

Steven Furtick

You and I will decide for ourselves it any of this is true,,,,

Until next time
